Josie’s Tattoo

January 24, 2022 -

When I found out I was pregnant I knew I’d eventually get a tattoo for my baby. I have my tattoo for Leila, and would just add this baby’s birth month flower to my arm. But as we learned about our sweet baby Josie’s condition and what was likely to happen, a tattoo in her honor became even more important. I knew I couldn’t simply just walk in and have just anyone do my baby justice and help me through my healing journey.

My angel of a friend Catherine Taylor with the help of the amazing people at Saniderm got me an appointment at Revolt Tattoo with Walter Frank (a.k.a Sausage).

Today was the day that has honestly helped give me something to look forward to for the last 2 months (seriously, just typing that has reminded me that tomorrow will be 2 months since we lost our Josie.) and it has been a day that I know will help me heal. While I will never carry my baby in my arms again, I get to carry her on my arm- and that is just so special.

A million thank you’s to Walter, Mike Smith, Revolt Tattoo, and Saniderm I am just in awe of the kindness everyone has shown me through this process. Thank you Catherine for being the catalyst for it all and thank you Jack Berry for capturing our story, I can’t wait to see the final product! There are just some people who you meet that you can just tell are special- all these people are amazing! I left my appointment today in tears… thankfully it wasn’t from pain or sadness, but just joy and gratitude for such wonderful people in this world. As Walter said today: imagine what this world could be like if everyone just was a little nicer to one another and used their skills for good
